This field contains classification part of the call number. It is used, along with :ref:`942$2<9422-classification-source-label>` and :ref:`942$i (MARC21)<942i-call-number-item-part-label>` to create the normalized call number (:ref:`942$6<9426-normalized-classification-label>`) used when sorting by call number.
